Drove through Montana and Wyoming before stopping overnight in Rapid City, SD. I saw Mount Rushmore lit up at night (sorry no picture, my camera broke). In the morning I drove through the Badlands. After that, there is just plains as far as the eye can see in South Dakota. Expect to drive 8+ hours before seeing anything higher than a few dozen feet above the ground. It's a little toned down in comparison to Texas, but South Dakota definitely has its fair share of kitchy roadside attractions...1. Wall Drug (Wall, SD). World famous, mostly because it has signs all over the world. Here's an example of one in Amsterdam.
2. Corn Palace (Mitchell, SD). It's exactly what it sounds like...a building made of corn. Well, the building itself is not made of corn, but the facade is, and it changes every year. This year was celebrating the corn palace through the years...
